Les Baloutches sont un peuple d'origine iranienne.

La plupart des Baloutches ou Baluchis (5,6 millions au total) vivent dans le Baloutchistan (ou Balouchistan), une province du sud-ouest du Pakistan, il existe aussi des communautés baloutches importantes en Afghanistan (environ 100 000), en Iran (environ un million) et au Turkménistan (environ 28 000). Les quelques 10 000 Baloutches de l’Afghanistan habitent dans le Sud-Ouest, soit dans les provinces de Kandahar, Hellmand et Nimrouz, près de la frontière pakistanaise. Les Baloutches du pays se réclament du sunnisme hanafite, bien qu’ils conservent de nombreuses croyances particulières et de cultes locaux. Ils parlent le baloutche, une langue iranienne de la famille indo-européenne.
