Les Griffes du lion (Young Winston) est un film britanno-américain réalisé par Richard Attenborough, sorti en 1972.

Synopsis

Le film raconte la jeunesse du futur Premier Ministre britannique Winston Churchill.

La première partie du film montre Churchill alors qu'il fréquentait l'école, une période de sa vie où il fut malheureux ; l'épisode se termine avec la mort de son père. La seconde partie évoque l'époque où il était officier de cavalerie en Inde et au Soudan, et sa participation à la charge de cavalerie à Omdurman, puis ses expériences comme correspondant de guerre dans la seconde guerre des Boer, et les épisodes de sa capture et de son évasion, enfin son élection au Parlement à l'âge de 26 ans.
