Ce qui suit dévoile des moments clés de l’intrigue.
Le peuple Ftoross est le peuple le plus représenté (en nombre) dans la population sillagienne, mais il est aussi le plus pauvre. Afin de se faire entendre, des groupes de ftoross effectuent des régulièrement des opérations terroristes. Dans ce tome, un groupe a décidé , pour se faire entendre, de supprimer une race entière de sillage : les humains, dont l'unique représentante est Nävis.
Nävis découvre dans ce tome une face cachée et peu glorieuse du modèle de Sillage.
