Yi So-yeon (이소연 en coréen), née le 2 juin 1978 à Gwangju en Corée du Sud, est une spationaute et étudiante doctorante au KAIST. Le 8 avril 2008, elle devint la première personne de nationalité coréenne dans l'espace.
Biographie
So-yeon a suivi des études secondaires à la Gwangju Science High School et obtenu un diplôme de mécanique à l'Institut supérieur coréen de science et de technologie (KAIST) à Daejeon. Elle y a obtenu un baccalauréat et une maîtrise et travaille à présent en tant que doctorante dans le domaine de la recherche sur les systèmes biotechnologiques.
So-yeon a aussi un niveau élevé en taekwondo.
Le 8 avril 2008, So-yeon devint la première Coréenne dans l'espace[1], en volant à bord de la mission Soyouz TMA-12 vers la Station spatiale internationale, suite au retrait de son compatriote Ko San pour cause de non-respect des consignes de confidentialité.
