Xing Yi Quan

Le Xingyi Quan ou Xing Yi Quan ou boxe Xingyi ou Hsing I Ch'uan (形意拳, pinyin: xíng yì quán, Wade-Giles: Hsing I Ch'üan) est un art martial chinois interne inspiré par la philosophie taoïste.

Les caractères chinois se traduisent par « boxe de la forme et de l'intention » ou « poing de la forme et de l'esprit »

Les Branches

Le Xing Yi Quan se divise en trois grandes branches régionales : le Xing Yi Quan du Shanxi, dit orthodoxe, le Xing Yi Quan du Henan ou Xing yi liu he quan (boxe du cœur des six harmonies) et le xing yi quan du Hebei. À cela s'ajoute des formes claniques parfois rattachées aux courants majeurs mais qui s'en differencient subtilement. Les études les plus sérieuses font remonter la création initiale du le xing yi quan à Ji Jike (Ji Longfeng), même si la paternité mythologique du style est attribuée à Yue Fei, un général connu dans l'histoire chinoise ayant vécu sous la dynastie Song (XIIe siècle). Certains rattachent le style à une excroissance de Shaolin, en raison d'une méthode appelée xingyi ba et qui aurait été pratiquée au sein de la partie interne de Shaolin (Shaolin nei pai).

Le xingyi quan se caractérise par des mouvements explosifs percutants liés à des déplacements linéaires ou en zigzag (esquive).

Une des évolutions majeures, le yi quan (ou yi chuan ou YQ, ou encore da cheng quan), signifiant « voie de l'harmonie du corps et de l'esprit », connaît en 2008 une notoriété certaine auprès des pratiquants d'arts martiaux (notamment français).[réf. nécessaire] Développé par Wang Xiang Zhai, le yi quan, tout en prolongeant le xingyi orthodoxe et sa recherche d'explosivité (fali en YQ), emprunte également des éléments techniques au taiji quan (absorption-rejet ou shili en YQ) et au bagua zhang (déplacement circulaire ou mocabu en YQ).
