Volkonsky
La famille Volkonsky (en russe Волконский, aussi translitéré en Volkonski ou Wolkonsky) est une famille princière de la noblesse russe.
Issue de Rurik, elle compte saint Michel de Tchernigov parmi ses ancêtres. Elle tire son nom de la Volkona, rivière des oblasts de Toula et de Kalouga. Elle a fourni plusieurs hommes distingués :
- Serge Féodorovitch Volkonsky, major-général lors de la guerre de Sept-Ans
- Théodore Volkonsky, qui eut part au Code du tsar Alexis ;
- Michel Volkonsky, gouverneur de Moscou sous Catherine ;
- Grégoire Volkonsky, diplomate.
Léon Tolstoï descend par sa mère des princes Volkonsky, et une branche s'allia aux princes Répnine et porta le nom de Répnine-Volkonsky.
