Whitecross est un groupe de metal chrétien apparu en 1986. Le groupe fut fondé en 1986 par Scott Wenzel(chant) et Rex Carroll(guitare). En 1987 ils réalisent leur premier album intitulé "Whitecross". Grâce aux textes poignants des chansons et aux solos de guitare survoltés de Carroll, Whitecross est vite comparé à des groupes comme Stryper ou Ratt. En 1992 Carroll quitte le groupe, voulant se lancer dans une carrière solo. Le groupe continue sans lui et réalise 5 albums en son absence. Ces albums sont plus du style pop ou pop-rock tandis que les précédents étaient du pur métal. Finalement, en 2005, Rex Carroll revient et le groupe remonte aux sources de leur musique avec l'album "Nineteen Eighty Seven" qui est une reprise de l'album "Whitecross" avec quelques nouvelles chansons.
