Walter Guyton Cady (1874 - 1974) est un ingénieur et physicien américain.
Walter Cady est né à Providence, Rhode Island, en 1874. Il étudie à l'université Brown, avant de partir à Berlin où il obtient son doctorat en 1900. Il revient ensuite aux États-Unis et intègre en 1902 l'université Wesleyenne, où il restera 44 ans[1].
Il fut un pionnier dans le domaine de la piézoélectricité au début du XXe siècle, notamment en mettant au point le premier oscillateur à quartz[2]. Son ouvrage consacré à la piézoélectricité publié initialement en 1946 et réédité en 1964 fut pendant longtemps un ouvrage de référence[3].
