Serment par Allah
Un serment par Allah, qui se fait généralement au moyen de l'interjection arabe « wallah » (والله dans l'alphabet arabe), signifiant littéralement « par Allah », sous-entendu « [je le jure] par Allah », consiste pour un locuteur de confession musulmane à prendre à témoin le dieu auquel il croit pour garantir que ses propos ne sont pas mensongers.
L'Islam ne permet pas aux croyants de jurer au nom de quelqu'un ou de quelque chose d'autre qu'Allah[réf. nécessaire].
Mentir en ayant juré au nom d'Allah est considéré par les croyants comme un blasphème[réf. nécessaire].
« Wallah » pourrait être à l'origine de l'interjection espagnole « ¡Olé! »[réf. nécessaire].
