Waking the Fallen est le deuxième album complet du groupe de metalcore/heavy metal Avenged Sevenfold cet album est le dernier du groupe ayant le son metalcore, leur nouvel opus City of Evil sonnant plus heavy metal. De plus, c'est le dernier album sur lequel M. Shadows cri plus qu'il ne chante. L'album fut lancé le 26 août 2003 par Hopeless Records. La chanson Chapter Four se retrouva dans la bande sonore des jeux vidéos Madden NFL 2004, NHL 2004 et Nascar Thunder 2004. Plusieurs fans du groupe croient que cet album est le meilleur du quintet jusqu'à présent parce qu'il est un mélange de cris "hardcores" et de refrains poignants. Le thème de l'album est principalement la fin du l'humanité et plus spécifiquement l'apocalypse.
