La ville de Vermillion est le siège du comté de Clay, dans l’État du Dakota du Sud, aux États-Unis. Lors du recensement de 2000, sa population s’élevait à 9 765 habitants. Densité : 399,9 hab/km² (1 035,6 hab/mi²). Superficie totale : 9,9 km² (3,8 mi²). Coordonnées géographiques : 44°3′10″N 98°16′25″O / 44.05278, -98.27361.

Histoire

La région a été explorée par des trappeurs français à la fin du XVIIIe siècle. Le nom de la ville serait d’origine lakota.
