Özbeg
Özbeg (turc öz : authentique + beg : seigneur), prince mongol de la Horde d'Or né en 1282 et qui régna, en tant que khan, de 1312 à sa mort en 1341.
Fils du prince Tougril et petit fils du Khan Mengü Temür il succéda à son oncle Toqtaï. Converti à l'islam sous le nom de Ghiyas ed-din Mohammed[réf. nécessaire] , il appliqua la tolérance religieuse habituelle chez les Mongols et favorisa le développement du soufisme. Sa sœur Kontchaka, baptisée sous le nom d'Agafia, épousa en 1317 le prince russe Iouri III Moskovski.
Le peuple de la dynastie parente des Chaybanides adopta son nom et fut ainsi connu sous le nom d'Ouzbeks.
