44°44′4″N 95°27′7″O / 44.73444, -95.45194 La réserve indienne d'Upper Sioux Indian Reservation (ou Pezihutazizi en langue dakota) est située dans l'État du Minnesota.
Elle s'étend sur le canton de Minnesota Falls(en) le long de la rivière Minnesota et dans l'est du comté de Yellow Medicine.
La réserve fut créée en 1938. Elle a une superficie de 5139 km².
Au recensement de 2000, la réserve indienne comptait seulement 57 personnes.
Un casino, le Prairie's Edge Casino Resort permet de faire vivre cette réserve.
Chaque année, la communauté Sioux organise un pow-wow traditionnel Oyate.
Historique
En 1854, le "Traité de Traverse" (Traverse Traity) permettait au gouvernement américain de regrouper les tribus Sioux dans des réserves et faciliter ainsi l'installation de colons blancs sur les territoires amérindiens. Des agences furent établies pour contrôler la mise en application des décisions du traité de Traverse. Ainsi fut établie l'agence "Yellow Medicine Agency".
Face aux spoliations de leurs droits, les tribus Sioux des Sisseton-Wahpeton se révoltèrent. La Yellow Medicine Agency ainsi que quelques missions furent détruites. Les troupes américaines intervinrent et la guerre finit par l'écrasement de la révolte des Sioux.
