Sperry Univac
Sperry Univac fut d'abord la division informatique de Remington Rand, formée suite au rachat en 1950 de Eckert-Mauchly Computer Corporation.
UNIVAC est l'acronyme de UNIVersal Automatic Computer[1].
Ordinateurs UNIVAC
Le premier ordinateur commercial produit est l'UNIVAC I, en 1951.
Suivra en 1957 l'UNIVAC 2, doté d'une mémoire de 24 000 caractères, extensible à 120 000 caractères[2] et l'UNIVAC III en 1962[3].
