Le twi ou tchi est une langue parlée par environ sept millions de personnes au Ghana. C'est l'un des trois dialectes de la langue akan (avec l'akuapem twi et le fanti). Au Ghana, le twi est parlé principalement dans la région d'Ashanti, mais aussi dans les régions Est, Ouest, Centre et Brong Ahafo.
Il existe plusieurs dialectes twi, mais leurs locuteurs peuvent tous se comprendre.
