Trivial Act est un groupe de metal progressif créé à Arendal en Norvège. Ils citent comme influences des groupes tels que Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Queensrÿche, Voivod ainsi que Judas Priest et Iron Maiden.
Histoire
Trivial Act s'est formé en 1993 à Arendal en Norvège, à l'initiative des guitaristes B. Andreassen and H. Salvesen. Le 27 octobre 1997, le groupe sort son premier album, intitulé Mindscape, qui fut encensé par le Scream Magazine. Un mois plus tard, Erik Wroldsen quitta le groupe pour des raisons personnelles et a été remplacé par la suite par le batteur Stian Kristoffersen du groupe Pagan's Mind Un an plus tard, Sven Ole Heggedal quitta le groupe pour les mêmes raisons et fut remplacé par le bassiste Steinar Krokmo (également de Pagan's Mind). Un mois après l'arrivée de Steinar, Håkon Salvesen quitta le groupe. En 2001, ils enregistrèrent une démo de 3 titres Thoughts in Lyrics. Après une longue pause, la groupe commença l'enregistrement du prochain album. En novembre 2008, Kim Isaksen quitta le groupe. Trivial Act recherche actuellement un chanteur pour le remplacer.
