Thomas Ravenscroft

Thomas Ravenscroft (vers 1582 ou 1592, Dodleston, Cheshire- 1635, Londres) était un compositeur britannique, théoricien et éditeur, connu pour ces rondes et aussi des transcriptions de musiques folkloriques britanniques.

Il chanta probablement dans le chœur de la Cathédrale Saint-Paul de 1594, lorsque qu'un "Thomas Raniscroft" fut listé dans les membres du chœur, jusqu'en 1600, sous la direction de Thomas Giles. Il reçut probablement son baccalauréat en 1605 à l'Université de Cambridge.
