Synopsis

À Panamá, un espion britannique salaud, paresseux et endetté fait chanter un tailleur mondain sur son passé pour obtenir des renseignements et obtient des canulars, qui sont tellement énormes qu'ils répondent aux attentes de sa hiérarchie.

  • Alors surtout connu pour ses rôles de James Bond, Pierce Brosnan accepta volontiers d'interpréter un rôle d'espion britannique immoral.
  • Le film fut exploité en France avec son titre original The Tailor of Panama, même s'il y était fait communément référence, notamment dans la presse, avec le titre français du roman d'origine, qui plus est linguistiquement proche du titre anglais. Ce n'est qu'au Québec que l'affiche et le générique comportaient un titre francisé.
