The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion est un album sorti en 1992. Il est le 2e album studio des Black Crowes. Le groupe d'Atlanta nous propose là une musique à mi-chemin entre le hard-rock et le blues. Considéré par beaucoup de gens comme étant le chef d'œuvre des Black Crowes, il a atteint le sommet des charts américains dès sa sortie. Cependant, certains le jugent moins abouti que leur précédent opus, nommé Shake Your Money Maker. De façon objective, le deuxième album des Black Crowes a marqué les esprits grâce à des morceaux inspirés et frais tels les singles Remedy et Thorn In My Pride, ou encore No Speak No Slave et My Morning Song aussi efficaces, ainsi que Hotel Illness avec son harmonica virevoltant et ses interventions de slide.
