The Private Press est le 2nd album studio de DJ Shadow, enregistré le 2 juin 2002. Bien qu'il ne fut pas autant acclamé par la critique que le précédent album Endtroducing..... de 1996, The Private Press a reçu globalement des critiques favorables[1].

Le visuel de l'album a été réalisé par le designer japonais Keith Tamashiro et tout comme pour Endtroducing..... l'artiste anglais Brian Cross (B+) a réalisé l'ensemble des photographies.
