The Pharcyde est un groupe de rap de la côte ouest des États-Unis. Le groupe a été créé à Los Angeles dans le quartier de South Central (maintenant South Los Angeles), où les membres du groupe ont grandi, mais leurs style se démarque dès le début des autres rappeurs de la côte ouest en adoptant une type de son plus proche du East Coast : le jazz rap.
Les membres originaux du groupe sont Slimkid3 (Tre Hardson), Fatlip (Derrick Stewart), Imani (Emandu Wilcox) et Bootie Brown (Romye Robinson). Le groupe est connu pour leurs morceaux Passing Me By et Runnin' , ainsi que pour l'album de leurs début, Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde (1992).

Le clip du single Drop, réalisé par Spike Jonze est un modèle du genre, de par la synchronisation entre la bande sonore avec une vidéo montée à l'envers (procédé repris depuis sur le clip de The Scientist de Coldplay).
Le morceau Runnin' contient des samples du morceau Saudade Vem Correndo de Stan Getz.
