Talcahuano est une ville située dans la région du Biobío, au Chili.

D'après le recensement de 2002, elle compte 163 628 habitants.

C'est le premier port militaire et industriel du Chili, mais aussi le premier port de pêche ; la ville fait partie de la conurbation de Concepción.

La ville a été touchée par le violent séisme du 27 février 2010[1].
