Stuart Christie est un anarchiste écossais connu pour avoir participé à la résistance des Républicains espagnols contre Franco. Il a été arrêté en 1964 en possession d'explosifs pour assassiner le Caudillo. Condamné à 20 ans de prison, il n'en effectuera finalement que trois, la pression internationale poussant Madrid à céder. Jean-Paul Sartre et Bertrand Russell font partie de ses soutiens. Après sa libération, il continue ses activités militantes en Grande-Bretagne, fonde l'Anarchist black cross et Black Flag avec Albert Meltzer. Il est ensuite accusé d'avoir pris part au groupe Angry Brigade, puis commence la maison d'édition Cienfugos Press.
