Strymon
Le Strymon est une rivière coulant en Bulgarie et en Grèce. Elle est nommée Strouma en bulgare (Струма), Strimonas en grec (Στρυμόνας), Strymōn en grec ancien (Στρυμών) et Karasu en turc. Sa source est située dans les montagnes Vitocha, en Bulgarie, et coule sur environ 400 kilomètres pour se jeter dans la mer Égée, dans le Golfe Strymonique.
La vallée qu'elle forme est une région d'importante production de charbon pour la Bulgarie.
En 1975 un barrage a été érigé, créant le lac de Kerkini.
Une cité grecque nommée Amphipolis a été fondée à l'embouchure de la rivière en 437 av. J.-C.
