Les Smart bombs (bombes intelligentes en français), sont des armes de précision.

Dans les jeux vidéo, les smart bombs sont un élément recurrent des shoot them ups où elles permettent de détruire l'ensemble des ennemis et de leurs projectiles à l'écran. Stratégiquement, les joueurs conservent souvent précieusement leur(s) smart bombs et ne s'en servent qu'au dernier moment, pour se sortir de situations délicates. Dans certains cas, les joueurs conservent leurs smart bombs jusqu'en fin de niveau car leur possession à ce stade dans certains jeux peut rapporter des points.
