Sloth est un framework Open Source pour développer des applications web avec PHP 5.
À la différence de ses concurrents, il se concentre uniquement sur deux aspects de la programmation web en se basant le patron de conception MVC (Modèle-Vue-Contrôleur). D'une part il propose un système de gestion des requêtes et réponses dont le fonctionnement et la mise en œuvre sont détaillés dans la section sur les contrôleur. D'autre part, et de manière totalement indépendante, Sloth met en œuvre un moteur de vues basé sur DOM.
La partie Modèle du patron de conception MVC n'est pas pris en charge par Sloth.
