Les Nuits avec mon ennemi (Sleeping with the Enemy) est un Thriller américain de Joseph Ruben sorti en 1991, avec Julia Roberts, Patrick Bergin et Kevin Anderson.

Synopsis

Depuis trois ans, Laura (Julia Roberts) et Martin semblent former le « couple parfait », dans leur luxueuse villa au bord de l'océan. Mais Laura mène une double vie : offrant à son mari le visage d'une femme heureuse, elle n'attend en réalité qu'une occasion pour s'enfuir et échapper à ses terrifiants accès de violence et de jalousie.

Elle a minutieusement préparé son évasion et réussi à « disparaître ». Laura est officiellement morte. Sous un nom d'emprunt, elle entame alors une nouvelle vie, un nouvel amour qui l'aide à surmonter ses peurs et ses inhibitions.

Mais Martin a découvert la supercherie et se lance à la poursuite de Laura, bien décidé à lui faire payer sa mystification. Lui a toujours dit que « si un jour tu me quittes, je te retrouverai et te tuerai ».
