John TavernerSir John Tavener, né le 28 janvier 1944 à Wembley (Londres, Angleterre), est un compositeur britannique.
Biographie
John Tavener a fait ses études à la Highgate School puis à la Royal Academy of Music où il suivit notamment les cours de sir Lennox Berkeley. Il a lui-même été anobli en 2000. Étant atteint du syndrome de Marfan, il est très grand et mince.
Œuvre musicale
Son œuvre est très influencée par la religion.
