Siegmund Lubin

Siegmund Lubin (20 avril 1851 - 11 septembre 1923) était un homme d'affaires américain et pionnier du cinéma. Siegmund Lubszynski est né à Breslau, dans une famille juive allemande. Il émigra aux États-Unis en 1876 où il ouvrit un magasin d'optique dans la ville de Philadelphie. Il acheta la caméra de Charles Jenkins et tourna plusieurs films dans la ville. Il construisit ensuite ses propres appareils, fonda la Lublin Manufacturing Company en 1902 et ouvrit les premières salles de cinéma de Philadelphie.
