Samuel Eliot Morison, Rear Admiral, officier de réserve (9 juillet 1887 à Boston15 mai 1976 (à 88 ans) dans la même ville) était un historien américain, reconnu pour son travail concernant l'histoire maritime. Comme marin et comme universitaire, Morison a récolté de nombreuses distinctions, dont deux Prix Pulitzer, deux Prix Bancroft, et la Presidential Medal of Freedom.
