Sæberth d'Essex

Sæberth, roi d'Essex, fils de Sledda. Neveu du roi Æthelbert de Kent, il est converti au christianisme par le prêtre Mellitus, qu'il fait évêque de Londres. La tradition lui attribue la construction de la cathédrale Saint-Paul de Londres et de l'abbaye de Westminster. Il a trois fils, Sæweard, Sexred et Saexbald qui abandonnent le christianisme et règnent ensemble à sa mort en 616.
