Le Rookie Game est un match entre jeunes joueurs : les joueurs en 1re année (rookie) de NBA et les joueurs en 2e année de NBA (sophomores) Il se déroule durant le NBA All-Star Week-End. Ce sont principalement les Sophomores qui l'emportent car ils ont plus d'experience, bien que les Rookies aient remporté les deux dernières éditions. Ce match est officiellement nommé par la NBA le Rookie Challenge.
