Rohingya

Les Rohingya sont une population vivant au nord de l'État d'Arakan, dans le sud-ouest de la Birmanie.

De langue indo-européenne et musulmans, les Rohingya se distinguent des Arakanais, de langue lolo-birmane et bouddhistes, qui forment la majorité de la population de l'Arakan.

Les Rohingya parlent un dialecte du chittagonien, une langue indo-européenne proche du bengalî et essentiellement parlée dans la région de Chittagong au Bangladesh.
