Phuthaditjhaba (ancienne Witsieshoek) est une ville d'environ 40 000 habitants, sise dans l'État-Libre en Afrique du Sud.

Située à l'est de la province, tout près de la frontière du Lesotho, elle est entourée par les montagnes enneigées du Drakensberg.

Au XIXe siècle, les boers l'avaient appelée Witsieshoek.

En 1974, du temps de l'apartheid, elle devint la capitale du bantoustan du QwaQwa, destiné aux membres de l'ethnie basotho, et fut rebaptisée d'un nom sesotho qui signifie lieu de rencontre des nations.
