Peter Joshua Sculthorpe (né le 29 avril 1929 à Launceston (Tasmanie)) est un compositeur australien.
Scuthorpe commence ses études de musique à l'âge de seize ans à Melbourne. Il est surtout connu par sa musique de chambre et d'orchestre, ainsi Kakadu (1988) and Earth Cry (1992), qui évoquent les sons et les sentiments de la nature de son pays. Dans ses 15 quatuors à cordes il utilise dans sa musique des timbres et effets rares.
