Peter Caddy

Peter Caddy (1917-1994) était hôtelier britannique et fondateur de la communauté spirituelle à Findhorn. Il était membre de la Confrérie de Crotone de l'Ordre rosicrucien. Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale il a été commissionné en tant qu'officier avec la branche de restauration de l'armée de l'air royale, où il a servi de 1940 jusqu'en 1955. De 1957 jusqu'en 1961 il était directeur de l'hôtel de Cluny Hill près de Forres, Écosse. Pendant une période du chômage à compter de 1962, Peter Caddy a commencé à expérimenter avec le jardinage organique pour compléter les approvisionnements alimentaires de sa famille. Le jardin près de Findhorn, Écosse, épanouie jusqu'à un degré si remarquable qu'il a par la suite attiré une attention nationale. Peter Caddy a attribué son succès à ses pratiques spirituelles, et une communauté a commencé à former autour de sa famille et de leur amie Dorothy Maclean. En 1979 Peter Caddy a quitté la communauté qu'il avait fondée. Il mourut dans un accident de voiture en Suisse en 1994.
