One-day International
Un match One-day International (ou ODI) est un type de match de cricket joué entre deux équipes nationales. Il se déroule sur un seul jour. Dans cette forme de cricket, le nombre de balles lancées par une équipe est limité. C'est ce format de match qui est utilisé pour la Coupe du monde de cricket et l'ICC Champions Trophy notamment.
Le premier ODI a été joué le 5 janvier 1971 entre l'Australie et l'Angleterre à Melbourne.
Règles particulières
- Chacune des deux équipes a un nombre limité de lancers. Actuellement, une manche consiste en 50 overs de 6 balles chacun, soit 300 lancers en tout par équipe. Par le passé, certains matchs se sont joués avec des manches de 60 overs.
- Chaque bowler ne peut lancer au maximum que dix overs.
