Le nubuck est un type de cuir dont la surface a été grattée au papier de verre ou à la meule, ce qui lui donne une apparence veloutée. Il diffère du suède par le fait qu'il est créé à partir de la surface extérieure du cuir, ce qui lui donne un grain plus fin et une meilleure résistance.
Le mot « nubuck » vient probablement de l'anglais new buck, c'est-à-dire nouveau suède[1].
