New Orleans Preachers

Ce groupe lorrain de Jazz Nouvelle-Orléans a été créé en 1965 par Gilles Pernet (piano) et Jean-Claude Maire (batteur et animateur du groupe).

En plus de quarante ans, cet orchestre de renommée nationale a développé un répertoire immense. Dans ce répertoire les NOP ont accompagné de grands solistes comme : Bill Coleman, Nelson williams, Harold Singer, Mickey Baker, Sam Woodyard, Sun Ra, Memphis Slim, Champion Jack Dupree et bien d’autres.

1992: création du BRASS BAND: Les NOP reviennent à la tradition des parades de la Nouvelle Orleans. Tout de suite, c’est le succès avec de nombreuses villes animées Paris, Strasbourg, Fréjus, Sainte-Maxime, Maubeuge, La Grand Motte, Nancy, Metz, Sarrebruck, Arlon, Pont-A-Mousson, Thionvile, Uzes, Le Mans, Luxembourg, etc. Et de nombreux festivals de jazz: Nancy jazz pulsation (Depuis 1973) , festival Oloron Sainte Marie, Landsthul Burg Manstein, Swinging Lautern, Stroossefestival, Vittel Festival De La Guitare.
