Le groupe Native est un duo français créé en 1991. Il se compose de deux sœurs, Laura Mayne (l'ainée, née le 20 janvier 1968 à Villemomble) et Chris Mayne (née le 12 janvier 1970 à Villemomble), originaires de la Martinique. Elles débutent leur carrière en tant que choristes avec, notamment, Niagara et Gérald De Palmas.

En 1998, la chanteuse américaine Cher reprend sur son album Believe leur chanson Dans ce monde à part, qu'elle intitule en anglais Taking back my heart.

En 2002, Laura Mayne sort en solo un album sous le nom d'artiste Native, intitulé Laura Mayne-Kerbrat (son nom d'épouse).

En 2003, Chris Mayne forme le groupe West Isle avec Éric Daniel dit Rycko (ex membre du groupe Sweetness). Ils sortent l'album Ailleurs en 2006.
