Munros

Les munros sont les montagnes écossaises d'une hauteur supérieure à 914,4 m (3000 pieds). Elles sont nommées ainsi puisque Sir Hugh Munro (1856–1919) est à l'origine du premier recensement exhaustif de celles-ci, connue sous l'appellation Munro's Tables, en 1891.

Il existe d'autres classifications pour les montagnes plus basses, qui comprennent les marilyns, les corbetts, les grahams et (dans le sud du pays), les donalds. Cependant les munros demeurent uniques car elles ne possèdent pas d'ensemble de critères d'admission.
