Le MSISDN ou Mobile Station ISDN Number est le numéro « connu du public » de l'usager GSM ou UMTS par opposition au numéro IMSI. C'est cet identifiant, couramment appelé numéro de téléphone, qui sera composé afin d'atteindre l'abonné. Seul le HLR connaît la correspondance entre le MSISDN et l'IMSI.
Format
Le format du MSISDN suit le plan de numérotation standard E.164 et est composé de la façon suivante :
- CC ou Country Code. C'est l'indicatif du pays d'origine (exemple, +41 pour la Suisse, +33 pour la France…).
- NDC ou National Destination Code. C'est l'indicatif déterminant principalement (attention à la portabilité) l'opérateur du réseau (79 pour Swisscom Mobile, 76 pour Sunrise, 78 pour Orange…).
- SN ou Subscriber Number. C'est le numéro de l'abonné attribué par l'opérateur du réseau GSM.
