Michael Kenna est un photographe, né en 1953 à Widnes dans le Lancashire en Angleterre. Il est diplômé de la Banbury School of Art dans l'Oxfordshire, puis du London College of Printing. Il vit actuellement aux États-Unis, à Portland, Oregon.
Son travail se compose essentiellement de photographies en noir et blanc de paysages très divers à l'atmosphère intimiste et kitsch.
Du 12 octobre 2009 au 25 janvier 2010, une exposition rétrospective lui est consacrée à la Bibliothèque nationale de France.
