Michael Boatman est un acteur né le 25 octobre 1964 à Colorado Springs.

Il est plus connu pour avoir joué le rôle de Carter Haywood dans la sitcom Spin City, et fut aussi un personnage de la série China Beach. Il est apparu a de maintes reprises dans des séries américaines, notamment Scrubs (Ron, le meilleur ami de Dr Cox) , New York unité spéciale, Les Experts : Miami ou Less Than Perfect.

Au cinéma, il a tourné dans le film Y a-t-il un flic pour sauver Hollywood, mais la scène dans laquelle il apparait a été coupée au montage.

En 2011, il apparaît dans la série à succès Gossip Girl dans le rôle de l'ancien associé de Bart Bass.
