Le pipit de Hellmayr est un oiseau présent en Amérique du Sud (Argentine, Bolivie, Brésil, Chili, Paraguay, Pérou et Uruguay). Son nom commémore le zoologiste allemand Carl Edward Hellmayr (1878-1944).
