L'entreprise est créée en mai 1988 par Rodrigo Ribadeinera et son slogan est « La piel de tu pais ». Marathon Sports est l'équipementier des équipes d'Équateur et de Bolivie de football ainsi que du club péruvien Alianza Lima et du club équatorien Barcelona Sporting Club.
