Une malformation est une altération morphologique congénitale d'un tissu ou d'un organe du corps humain ou de tout être vivant.
Une malformation est due à un trouble du développement du fœtus, elle est présente dès la naissance.
Les causes possibles sont multiples : toxiques de l'environnement, fumée du tabac, alcool, drogues, certains médicaments ou encore des causes génétiques (héréditaires ou dues à des mutations spontanées).
