Stratospheric est un album de guitare instrumentale (à l'exception d'un titre), interprété et produit en 2000 par le guitariste français Jean-Pierre Danel.

Ce disque lui a valu deux Awards de l’Instrumental Rock Guitar Hall Of Fame aux USA pour l'album de l'année et comme compositeur de l'année, pour le titre "Ballad for a friend". Ce titre sera ré-enregistré par Jean-Pierre Danel dans une version avec orchestre symphonique, pour son album Guitar Connection, N°1 des ventes en France et double disque d'or à l'été 2006 (plus de 160 000 exemplaires vendus).

Plusieurs des titres de l'album Stratospheric furent classés dans les charts de téléchargement sur internet (web charts), et parmi eux, "The Rise and Fall of Flingel Bunt", "Come Together", "Ballad for a friend" et la chanson "Chasseur d'Indien" atteignirent chacun le N°1, respectivement pour 3, 2 et 1 semaines.

L'album compte aujourd'hui parmi les classiques du genre, et a été commercialisé dans 34 pays.
