Kibyōshi
Le mot Kibyōshi (黄表紙, Kibyōshi?) désigne un genre de livre japonais illustré kusazōshi (草双紙), produit durant le milieu de la période Edo.
Physiquement identifiables comme étant des romans illustrés à dos jaune, ces livres furent en vogue pendant près de trente ans, à partir de 1775 : à cette date en effet a été publié un ouvrage écrit par Koikawa Harumachi (恋川春町), connu sous le titre de « Le rêve splendide de Maître Orenbarre (?) » (金々先生栄花夢).
Il faut bien reconnaître que, dans la mesure où l'histoire de ce genre littéraire reste à écrire, les quelques trois mille titres qui le composent sont difficile à caractériser précisément.
