Katherine Anne Porter (15 mai 1890 – 18 septembre 1980) était une journaliste, écrivain, essayiste et activiste américaine. Elle est née à Indian Creek, au Texas. Katherine Anne Porter est considérée par beaucoup comme l’écrivain le plus important du Texas[1]. Ses œuvres appartiennent à la tradition littéraire du Sud des États-Unis. Elle reçut le prix Pulitzer et le National Book Award en 1966 pour The Collected Stories. Elle fut nominée trois fois pour le prix Nobel de littérature[1].
